Motherworldly
The three series of the Motherworldly Podcast were produced almost entirely during the 2020 lockdown, when creator Karen Hall was furloughed and mostly enjoying the sunshine.
It began as a show about feminist issues in motherhood, and in series one we hear from mothers about different aspects of their lives; but towards the end of the series, the pandemic was the only thing on everyone’s minds, and it began to change.
Series two is a shorter set of podcasts, speaking to women specifically about family life and work in lockdown, in different roles and different parts of the world. By series three, we needed distraction from the tedium, so it’s all about books, with authors, readers, book lovers everywhere telling their stories about stories.
